Community Spotlight: James Polito from HUD presented with Latham’s Roy T. Morgan Award
July 8, 2019
The Roy T. Morgan Award is the highest honor that Latham Centers can bestow upon members of the community. It is awarded for service which has had a significant and lasting impact on Latham Centers and the lives of those we educate and support. At our End of Year Celebration on June 21st, President and CEO Anne McManus presented the award to James Polito:
“It is with deep gratitude and appreciation that I present this award to Jim Polito, Senior Account Executive at the Asset Management Division of the Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development. Jim has been instrumental in helping us navigate the waters that enabled us to build two brand new homes to support adults with Prader-Willi syndrome as they age. This is a project that has been in the works for over seven years, and in that time, Jim never faltered. Without his perseverance, vision, and wisdom, I am convinced those homes would not be the reality they have come to be. Working for a large bureaucracy could cause an individual to lose their humanity – Jim’s humanity has been a beacon going straight and true. I believe Jim epitomizes the true spirit of the mission of the Department of Housing and Urban Development, providing affordable housing and access to housing to those in need in our country.”
