Volunteer Spotlight: Jo-Ellen Erickson joins Board of Directors

We’re thrilled to welcome Jo-Ellen Erickson of Harwich to our Board of Directors! She has given many years of volunteerism to our non-profit organization – as well as other Cape area charitable causes.

“Latham Centers holds a very special place in my heart. I often wondered what was behind the great privet hedges on 6A in Brewster. It wasn’t until my cousin arrived at Latham Centers that I discovered the magic of this important organization,” Jo-Ellen said. “The significant difference Latham makes for the individuals and families they serve is immeasurable, to say the least. I am forever compelled to share Latham’s story, and by doing so perhaps we can remove some of the mystery to what lies behind the hedge and bring awareness instead. I’m honored by this opportunity and look forward to bringing my enthusiasm, energy, and strong work ethic to Latham’s Board of Directors.”

Jo-Ellen earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing/Sales from Bentley University, and she has been a Cape Cod resident for 25 years, serving others as a small business owner, seasonal service industry worker, and high-end REALTOR, and contributing countless hours of volunteer service.

She is excited to serve the human services agency she credits for “the outstanding staff and their compassionate, highly-regarded work.” Jo-Ellen joins current Latham Centers Board members who work with the organization’s senior management team in an advisory, advocacy, fundraising, and fiduciary role. Other volunteer board members include: Christine Gillstrom Burgess (Chair) of Dennis; Christine Thomas, MD, (Vice-Chair) of Reading; Jack Kelly (Treasurer) of Yarmouth Port; Keith Bradley (Clerk), of Chatham; Frank Burgess of Brewster; Dan Chamberlain, Esquire, of Dennis; Kathryn Earle of Cohasset; Robert Newman of Plymouth; Todd Squire of Orleans; Tyler Eldredge of Yarmouth Port; Matt McCleery of Chatham; Leslie Watt of Sandwich; and Vicki Dunnington of Winchester.
